Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Technician with a specialization in data centers to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecommunications systems and equipment within our data center facilities. This role requires a strong understanding of network infrastructure, data transmission protocols, and industry best practices to ensure optimal performance and reliability of our telecommunications systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation and Configuration:
  • Install, configure, and maintain telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, servers, and cabling systems within data center environments.
  • Ensure proper setup of telecommunications infrastructure to support data center operations.
  • Proficient with EXFO Testing Equipment
  • Proficient in Ribbon Fusion Splicing
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on telecommunications systems to ensure reliability and uptime.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data transmission, network connectivity, and system performance.
  • Network Monitoring:
  • Monitor network performance and utilization, identifying potential issues and implementing solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Utilize network management tools to track and analyze data traffic patterns.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, system changes, and maintenance activities.
  • Prepare reports on system performance, outages, and resolutions for management review.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with IT and engineering teams to design and implement telecommunications solutions that meet the needs of the data center.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other team members and departments as needed.
  • Compliance and Standards:
  • Ensure all telecommunications installations comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve service delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in telecommunications, with a focus on data centers preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, including fiber optics, copper cabling, and network hardware.
  • Proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs, etc.) and telecommunications standards.
  • Must have experience installing OSP fiber, ISP fiber, bundled fiber, Single Mode/ Multi Mode.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour

Work Location: In person

Salary : $19 - $23
