We are seeking an experienced IT Production Support Assistant to support critical applications in a mainframe and midrange computing environment. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong background in production support, batch processing, and IT operations who can ensure smooth day-to-day system performance in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor, execute, and troubleshoot production batch jobs in a mainframe environment.
- Manage job scheduling using tools such as Control-M.
- Support application deployments using Endevor, including handling JCL, PROCs, and control statements.
- Perform incident and ticket management, documenting issues and resolutions using ITSM tools.
- Operate and support mainframe consoles and data center processes.
- Respond to system alerts and resolve production issues efficiently.
- Collaborate with developers and team members for application support and knowledge sharing.
- Maintain and update procedural documentation.
- Assist with high-volume print operations when required
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in mainframe production support / operations.
- Hands-on experience with Control-M (or similar job scheduling tools.
- Experience using Endevor for code migration and deployment.
- Strong understanding of JCL (Job Control Language.
- Experience with incident tracking systems (e.g., Cherwell, ServiceNow.
- Background working in a data center or 24/7 production environment.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to COBOL applications
- Experience with high-speed production printers.
- Prior experience in a government or public sector environment.
Additional Requirements: Candidates must be local to Downey, CA and able to work in a hybrid setting No C2C (Corp-to-Corp) candidates will be considered.
Salary : $25 - $29
