We are looking for a Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer / DBA to support and lead initiatives across complex enterprise database environments. This role involves working on critical legacy systems and ensuring performance, stability, and scalability across multiple platforms.

Location: Downey, CA (Hybrid – 2 Days Onsite Required)
Duration: 12–24 Month Contract

Important Note (Please Read Before Applying
- This is a Systems Programmer / DBA role
- NOT a Mainframe Application Developer role
- Profiles focused only on COBOL development/application coding will NOT be considered
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain mainframe system software (z/OS environment)
- Administer and support databases: DB2, IMS (DB/DC), ADABAS
- Perform database upgrades, tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting
- Handle backup/recovery, reorgs, replication, and capacity planning
- Provide technical guidance to development and operations teams
- Lead and support high-impact system upgrade and enhancement projects.
Required Skills
Strong experience with:
- IBM z/OS
- CICS, IMS DB/DC
- DB2, IMS, ADABAS
- JCL, SMP/E
Working knowledge of:
COBOL, REXX, Assembler (support level, not development-heavy)
Familiarity with tools such as:
- BMC Tools, File Manager, CA Spool, Natural/SuperNatural, EntireX
- Experience in database performance tuning, system-level troubleshooting
Ideal Candidate
- 7 years in Mainframe Systems Programming / DBA roles.
- Experience working in large enterprise or government environments.
- Proven ability to lead projects and support production systems.
- Strong understanding of multiple DBMS architectures
