CV Resources is partnering with a manufacturing client in San Diego in search for a Senior Cost Accountant to join their team.Key ResponsibilitiesCost Accounting & InventoryMaintain and analyze standard and actual product costs, including material, labor, and overhead components.Oversee inventory accounting for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods in accordance with GAAP.Ensure accurate BOM (Bill of Materials) and routing cost structures in the ERP system.Perform monthly inventory close, including reconciliations, variance analysis, and inventory roll-forwards.Calculate, analyze, and explain PPV, labor, and overhead variances and partner with Operations to drive improvements.Manufacturing Cost ControlManage labor and overhead cost allocation methodologies, including absorption costing and overhead rate updates.Review and maintain standard costs, including annual cost roll-ups and interim updates.Analyze manufacturing performance metrics including yield, scrap, rework, and efficiency.Support new product cost modeling, quoting, and margin analysis.Financial Reporting & ControlsPrepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules related to inventory, COGS, and reserves.Support month-end close and ensure accurate reporting of inventory and manufacturing costs.Maintain inventory reserves for excess and obsolete, slow-moving, and scrap inventory.Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and SOX (if applicable).RequiredBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environmentStrong experience with inventory accounting, BOMs, standard costing, and variance analysisExperience with labor and overhead absorption costingAdvanced Excel skillsPandoLogic.
