As we continue to grow, we are building a structured and scalable finance department and are seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to help support accounting operations and financial reporting.
This role will play a key part in owning day-to-day accounting functions, supporting accurate financials, and helping drive visibility into project profitability.
Position Overview
This is a hands-on accounting role responsible for supporting and participating in the full month-end close process, payroll processing, and job costing.
The ideal candidate has experience in a fast-paced environment, is comfortable working in detail, and can operate with limited oversight.
Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial data
- Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements and internal reporting
- Support year-end tax preparation and coordination with external accountants
- Monitor job costing and project profitability
- Review project budgets vs. actual costs
- Work with operations and project managers to ensure accurate cost allocation
- Identify and report cost overruns or project margin issues
- Process payroll accurately and on time
- Ensure payroll is correctly posted to the general ledger and allocated to job
- Maintain payroll records and support compliance
- Assist in building and improving accounting processes and internal controls
- Support system and reporting improvements as the company scales
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4-8 years of accounting experience
- Experience supporting or owning month-end close (required)
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Payroll processing experience (required)
- Strong Excel skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Construction, contracting, or project-based accounting
- Experience with job costing and WIP
- Experience working in a growing or startup environment
