Bookkeeper (6-Month Temporary Contract)

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join their finance team on a 6-month temporary assignment. This role will support the month-end close process and assist with day-to-day accounting operations (namely AP and AR) in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across multiple accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, deferrals, and revenue recognition.
• Oversee accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, collections, cash application, and customer billing inquiries.
• Manage accounts payable activities, including invoice processing, employee expense reports, credit card reconciliations, payment runs, and purchase order administration.
• Assist with cash flow forecasting and maintain relationships with key vendors.
• Support tax compliance activities, including annual reporting and regulatory filings.
• Assist with year-end audit preparation and respond to audit requests.
• Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analyses to support business decision-making.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including month-end close and AP/AR.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices.
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger reconciliations, and revenue recognition.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
• Available to commit to a 6-month temporary assignment.
