CV Resources is partnering with a public Fortune 250 global manufacturer in search for an accounting supervisor to oversee the month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting processes. This role will ensure accurate cost accounting, inventory valuation, and compliance with U.S. GAAP while partnering with operations to support business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
- Oversee general ledger activities, including review of journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) and provide variance analysis
- Manage and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies
- Oversee cost accounting functions, including standard costing, inventory valuation, and cost of goods sold analysis
- Monitor and analyze inventory transactions, including adjustments, reserves (excess & obsolete), and cycle count results
- Partner with operations, supply chain, and production teams to analyze cost drivers and improve margins
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and company policies
- Support external and internal audits, including preparation of schedules and audit documentation
- Identify and implement process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing leadership and development
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
- Required: 5 years of accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
- 2 years of supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory, and standard costing
- Proven experience managing month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal controls
- Experience working with ERP systems in a manufacturing setting
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner cross-functionally
