What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ice Arena Maintenance position at Cushing Academy?
The Rink Attendant is responsible for helping oversee the year-round ice facility to ensure smooth operations, safety, and customer satisfaction. It is essential to be available nights, weekends, and holidays during hours of operation to meet with staff, facility users, and vendors and be present for regular and special events. Responsibilities include monitoring refrigeration systems (pumps, motors, gauges, etc.), keeping an accurate sales record, and handling and recording large sums of money. Ability to sharpen and repair ice skates and operate a Zamboni or be willing to learn to do so. Ability and willingness to perform manual labor, including, but not limited to, mopping, lifting, snow removal, etc.
Successful candidates must have strong self-motivation, effective time management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with coworkers and other school community members. This position requires climbing, reaching, bending, pulling, and lifting (minimum of 45 pounds).
