Duties

• Greet guests promptly with a friendly and energetic attitude, creating a welcoming atmosphere
• Manage restaurant reservations efficiently using restaurant table management systems such as opentable, yelp and toast.
• Escort guests to their tables, ensuring comfort and providing menus promptly
• Take accurate food and beverage orders, utilizing POS systems to process transactions swiftly and correctly
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and servers to coordinate timely service
• Handle guest inquiries via phone with professional phone etiquette, including reservation inquiries and general questions
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of host/hostess station and dining areas to uphold food safety standards
• Assist in managing waitlists during busy hours, ensuring fair seating practices and guest satisfaction
• Support guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and courteously, turning any issues into positive experiences

Requirements

• Previous experience as a host/hostess or in food service is highly preferred
• Strong communication skills with excellent phone etiquette and customer service orientation
• Familiarity with restaurant reservation management systems such as Toast POS.
• Basic math skills for handling bills, payments, and POS transactions accurately
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper sanitation procedures in a restaurant setting
• Organizational skills to manage reservations, waitlists, and seating arrangements efficiently
• Ability to stand for extended periods, walk comfortably around the dining area, and lift moderate loads when necessary
• Hospitality experience that demonstrates guest relations expertise and a positive attitude
