A global manufacturing organization is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to support inventory and cost accounting operations across multiple manufacturing facilities. This role will play a key part in maintaining accurate inventory valuation, supporting month-end close activities, and partnering with operations to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency throughout the production environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes related to inventory and manufacturing accounting
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses related to inventory, production costs, and standard costing
- Maintain and reconcile inventory-related general ledger accounts
- Assist with standard cost updates, bill of materials (BOM) maintenance, and product cost analysis
- Monitor inventory transactions and investigate discrepancies between physical inventory and system records
- Participate in cycle counts, physical inventory audits, and inventory control initiatives
- Analyze manufacturing variances including labor, material, and overhead costs
- Assist with preparation of financial reports and audit schedules
- Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and plant leadership to improve inventory accuracy and reporting
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on process efficiency and cost reduction
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting controls
- Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
- Experience with inventory accounting and/or cost accounting required
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting
- Experience working with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
