What are the responsibilities and job description for the National Account Executive position at Curious Jane?
Position Purpose/Summary
At Curious Jane, we are not your typical ad agency. We are a full-service agency that works exclusively with franchise brands, and we thrive at the intersection of creativity, strategy, and measurable results. Our clients are big names with big goals, and they count on us to help them grow.
We’re looking for an Account Executive (AE) who can keep the trains running on time while also helping us chart the course. This is not a “task taker” role. Our AEs are strategic partners who can think critically, connect insights across channels, and rally the right people to deliver smart, integrated campaigns.
If you’re passionate about marketing, love variety, and want to be part of a team that plays bigger because we know franchises inside and out, this could be the perfect fit.
Duties Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as a trusted day-to-day partner.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams across CRM, Web, SEO, Creative, Paid Media, and PR to deliver integrated campaigns.
- Write clear and compelling briefs that translate client objectives into actionable direction for the internal team.
- Contribute to strategy development by identifying insights, sharing industry and competitive updates, and connecting dots across channels.
- Work with the project management team on timelines, deliverables, and approvals to ensure projects are completed on time, on brand, and on budget.
- Partner with clients and internal teams to monitor campaign performance, surface learnings, and recommend optimizations.
- Support agency profitability by managing budgets, billing, and scope of work.
- Earn and maintain positive client relationships at all levels, furthering the agency’s partnership and reputation.
- Lead meetings that represent client requests efficiently and with clear direction on client goals and objectives, ensuring all stakeholders are informed.
Budget/Financials
- Develop and oversee the budget for national account activities, including annual budget, incremental budgets for marketing campaigns, and promos.
- Monitor and track budget expenditures, ensuring adherence to approved financial targets and objectives.
- Collaborate with media, finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate forecasting and reporting of national account expenses and revenue.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to optimize budget allocation across different account activities and initiatives.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making related to national account management.
- Continuously evaluate and improve budget management processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Reporting
- Collaborate with clients to understand their key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting preferences.
- Work with the data analytics team to analyze client data and derive actionable insights that drive business value and inform strategic decision-making.
- Regularly review and analyze account performance metrics with clients, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Act as a strategic advisor to clients, leveraging data and analytics to identify opportunities for growth and optimization.
- Facilitate regular performance review meetings with clients to discuss progress against goals and initiatives.

- A knack for balancing creativity with business goals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, you can write a sharp brief, lead a client call, and keep everyone aligned.
- A love for organization and project management, paired with the ability to pivot when priorities shift.
- A collaborative spirit, you thrive when working with a mix of creatives, strategists, analysts, and media pros.
