About the Role
As the Lab Tech, you are responsible for performing stability analysis on prepared samples and record results in a stability record, laboratory notebook, or computer spreadsheet.
***This role is for candidates who reside within 60 miles of our corporate office on 9th Street SE in Minneapolis. College students are encouraged to apply! This is a short-term assignment. ***
What You’ll Do
- Perform stability analysis on prepared samples and record results in a stability record, laboratory notebook, or computer spreadsheet. Maintain an active stability calendar. Analysis will be performed using a viscometer, pH meter, olfactory observation, and direct observations. Any deviations from initial readings should be reported to designated Chemist. File completed stability samples and reports as directed. Stabilities are completed to ensure adequate product shelf life and performance.
- Package and label lab batch samples as directed. Perform evaluation on batches as directed.
- Help fill product for evaluation samples, key accounts, reps and show samples.
- Unpack, label, and distribute samples for R&D and Product Designers.
- Perform general maintenance and cleaning of lab area by maintaining and organizing chemical inventory, lab supplies, and packaging materials. Calibrate and wash equipment and clean/wipe lab benches as necessary. Discard aged samples as directed. Help maintain a safe, clean, and healthy laboratory environment.
- Perform filing, document scanning or photocopying, packing and shipping packages, and other clerical duties as directed by Manager or Chemists.

What You Bring
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One year of experience working in laboratory environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational discipline
- Knowledge of laboratory safety and utilization of good laboratory technique
- Basic level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook
Preferred:
- Interest in fragrance and personal care or home cleaning industry

- Work Environment: General laboratory environment. Lab is well-lit, air-conditioned.
- Physical Requirements:
- Works generally at bench-top height, either standing or sitting.
- Ability to stand on concrete floors for up to 6 hours at a time.
- Daily: required to lift 25 pounds, push on rolling cart up to 100 pounds.
- Daily: required to stoop, bend, push, and pull to remove items from upper and lower shelves.
- Daily: exposure to chemicals and strong odor, ability to tolerate fragrant conditions up to 8 hours at a time.
