About the Role


As a People Business Partner, you will serve as the primary People contact for designated departments across multiple states and locations. In this highly collaborative role, you will partner with leaders and employees to deliver people-related solutions that align with business objectives while promoting a consistent, positive employee experience. You’ll provide guidance and partnership covering the full employee life-cycle: recruitment, onboarding, training & development, performance, policy, benefits, and employee relations, balancing business goals with employee advocacy.


***This role is for candidates who reside within 60 miles of our corporate office on 9th Street SE in Minneapolis***


What You’ll Do


HR Business Partnership

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to assigned department leaders on people-related matters.
  • Coach managers on performance, development, engagement, and team effectiveness.
  • Build relationships with employees across locations to foster trust, feedback, and transparency.


Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Manage employee relations issues with professionalism and consistency.
  • Conduct or support investigations and provide recommendations aligned with policy and culture.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across assigned geographies.


Talent Lifecycle Support

  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes for assigned departments, ensure a best-in-class employee experience.
  • Participate in talent reviews, development planning, and succession discussions.
  • Lead employee recognition, engagement, development, and retention initiatives.
  • Guide managers through performance management and disciplinary processes


HR Program Delivery

  • Partner with the broader People team to implement core HR programs (e.g., performance reviews, policy updates, engagement surveys).
  • Maintain accurate employee records and support leave and benefits processes in coordination with centralized HR functions.
  • Contribute to a culture of recognition, accountability, and inclusion.



Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as a liaison between assigned departments and the broader People function to ensure consistent delivery of services.
  • Provide input to improve HR processes and tools that support a distributed workforce.

  • You contribute to a strong team culture by fostering collaboration across the organization.

  • You understand that success in your role could include occasional extended work hours as necessary to meet seasonal deadlines and that periodically, you may be asked to perform other duties not included in your role description.


What You Bring


Qualifications:

  • 3 years of progressive HR experience in a multi-site or multi-state environment.
  • Demonstrated success in building trust with leaders and employees across different functions and locations.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Experience providing training to employee groups and supporting individual development planning
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.


Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or a related field.
  • Experience working in an HRIS environment.
  • Experience in supporting commercial and creative work teams

  • Ability to diffuse and respond effectively to situations involving intense pressures and/or unpredictable situations.
  • Skill in giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made and asking questions as appropriate
  • Must be an individual of high energy, positive attitude, and a proven track record of getting results.
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and ensure on-time completion in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively, both written & verbally, with internal and external customers requiring a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain and protect company proprietary information.

  • Travel Requirement: up to 5%
  • Work Environment: General office or home office environment
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move items weighing 10 – 15 pounds.
  • When in a facility, occasional exposure to dusty and fragrant conditions
