Pediatrician

To provide comprehensive medical care to infants, children, and adolescents, promoting their health and well-being within a family-centered environment at CFMC.
Job Functions/Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough physical examinations, obtaining complete medical histories and assessing patients' developmental progress.
- Diagnoses and treat illnesses, injuries, and other health conditions specific to pediatric patients.
- Prescribe and administer medications, therapies, and immunizations following established pediatric guidelines.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as blood work, X-rays, and other imaging studies, to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Counsel and educate patients and their families on preventative care, healthy lifestyles, nutrition, and safety measures.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, specialists, and therapists, to provide coordinated and comprehensive care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documenting patient encounters, diagnoses, treatment plans, and outcomes.
- Participate in continuing medical education activities to stay abreast of the latest advancements in pediatric medicine.
- Adhere to all relevant ethical and legal standards, including patient confidentiality and informed consent.
- Provide compassionate and supportive care to patients and their families, addressing their concerns and fostering a positive patient experience.
- Participate in hospital rounds and attend deliveries as needed.
- Manage and treat common pediatric illnesses, such as infections, respiratory problems, and allergies.
- Address developmental and behavioral issues in children and adolescents.
- Provide guidance and support to parents on childcare, breastfeeding, and other parenting concerns.
- Advocate for the health and well-being of children within the community.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the overall enhancement of pediatric care services at Cumberland Family Medical Center.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in providing comprehensive pediatric care, including well-child visits, acute illness management, and chronic disease management.
- Experience working with diverse pediatric patient populations.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with children, adolescents, and their families.
- Strong clinical skills and judgment.

- Ability to maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
- Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Current and unrestricted medical license in the state of practice.
- Current DEA registration.
- BLS/PALS certification.
Required Education:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an accredited Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology (American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology or equivalent)
- Active and unrestricted Kentucky medical license (or eligibility for licensure)
- Current DEA registration and Kentucky Controlled Substance License
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Schedule Requirements:
Full-time position, 4 days per week, 100% clinic-based, in person work required.
Work schedules are set at the discretion of CFMC and may be adjusted at any time based on the operational needs of the organization.
