Join the Child Support Program as the department is dedicated to promoting the financial well-being of children by helping ensure that noncustodial parents meet their court-ordered child support obligations. This position plays an important role in supporting that mission by providing administrative assistance to the Child Support Legal Unit. Responsibilities include preparing and processing court orders and other legal documents, maintaining accurate case records, and managing a computerized tracking system for court orders, motions, and related legal actions. Through attention to detail, organization, and collaboration with legal staff, this position helps support the efficient operation of the Child Support Program and contributes to positive outcomes for children and families within the community.
  • Prepare and process appropriate court order templates based on court preparation documents and case information provided by Child Support Agents
  • Review and compile documentation for submission to assigned paralegals to facilitate the preparation of legal orders and related court documents
  • Coordinate with paralegals and agency attorneys to ensure court orders are completed, reviewed, approved, and processed in accordance with established procedures and legal requirements
  • Electronically file approved court orders, Certificates of Service, and other legal documents with the Clerk of Court in a timely and accurate manner
  • Maintain and update computerized tracking systems to monitor the status of motions, legal actions, court orders, and related case activities
  • Track requests for motions and other legal actions from initiation through preparation, review, approval, and final filing
  • Monitor the progression of court orders through all stages of preparation and filing to ensure timely completion and compliance with applicable deadlines
  • Organize, maintain, and retrieve legal and administrative records, files, and supporting documentation in accordance with departmental procedures
  • Perform a variety of administrative and clerical support functions, including filing, copying, scanning, and distribution of documents
  • Operate and perform routine troubleshooting and minor maintenance of office equipment, including photocopiers, fax machines, printers, and related devices
  • Provide general administrative support to the Child Support Legal Unit and perform other duties as assigned to support departmental operations
High school diploma or GED and the ability to perform the primary duties of the position.

Necessary additional requirements: Successful completion of Reading Comprehension, Intermediate Word, Basic Excel, and Spelling will be required. Candidates selected as qualified will be contacted via email by a Human Resource representative for testing.

  • Knowledge of basic office practices, procedures, and administrative support functions.
  • Knowledge of arithmetic, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, and business communication principles applicable to office operations.
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and other computer software applications commonly used in an office environment.
  • Skill in operating standard office equipment, including computers, scanners, copiers, fax machines, printers, and related technology.
  • Skill in accurately entering, processing, and maintaining data, records, and other information required to support program and office operations.
  • Skill in utilizing automated systems, software applications, and technology to efficiently perform assigned duties.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with employees, customers, and the public in person, by telephone, and in writing.
  • Ability to interpret, understand, and follow oral and written instructions, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Ability to perform detailed work with a high degree of accuracy and maintain productivity standards appropriate to the position.
  • Ability to exercise tact, courtesy, professionalism, and sound judgment when interacting with the public and coworkers.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work assignments while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, external agencies, and members of the public.

Conditions of Employment:
