Description
Essential Functions/Duties: the Quality Assurance Lead will perform duties which support the company’s QA and operational key indicators as well as verify all products and processes to ensure Food Safety, Quality, BRC standards and specifications are met. Works directly with QA Technicians and operations to control inspection activities and to enforce requirements as specified by raw materials, ingredients, products and package specifications, and regulatory agencies. Initiates corrective action for procedural, product, or process deficiencies.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
o Comply with all company safety policies and procedures as well as complying with all OSHA rules and regulations.
o Ensures all plant personnel adhere to good manufacturing practices (GMP) including proper waste disposal, personal hygiene and personal practices.
o Works to develop a positive working relationship with other departments and team building environment to drive Food Safety and Quality.
o Ensures all plant personnel adhere to good manufacturing practices (GMP) including proper waste disposal, personal hygiene, and personal practices.
o Works to develop a positive working relationship with other departments and team building environment to drive Food Safety and Quality.
o Trains and develops peers in the performance of their duties
o Being able to communicate with USDA
o Being able to perform the duties of any QA Tech in any department
o Follow all biosecurity and Animal Welfare Policies
o Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal codes and regulations.
o Report any animal welfare related issues to management immediately.
o Report any potential Food Safety issues to management immediately.
o Report any damages to company vehicles, equipment, and buildings via maintenance work order software program.
o Comply with all company policies and procedures.
o All other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
o Skills in monitoring and measurement of process control, auditing, manufacturing of food products, sanitation process, knowledge of HACCP, SSOP regulations and root cause analysis
o Basic computer skills including MS Office Suite; Effective oral and written communication skills; time management skills; organizational skills; math skills; team building and coaching skills.
o Ability to respond to common inquiries from regulatory agencies
o Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
o Ability to anticipate needs and innovate in a high volume, fast-paced environment
o Experience with developing and documenting Standard Operating Procedures
o Strong written and verbal communication skills
o Effective at managing relationships with internal and external customers
o Outstanding communication skills.
o Ability to independently make decisions with minimum supervision.
o Ability to multitask and effectively prioritize workload.
o Strong teamwork skills with a willingness to assist others.
o Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures.
o Bilingual preferred but not required.
Experience:
o 2 years of relevant experience in a technician or supervisory role.
Physical Job Requirements The physical requirements/environmental factors for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
o Fast-paced production environment with exposure to noise, dust, heat, and machinery.
o Requires standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs. without assistance; 80 lbs. with assistance), bending, and working in elevated or confined spaces.
o Must be able to use hands for simple/firm grasping.
o Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance: Must be able to pass E-Verify
