Job Title: Field Service Engineer
Type: Full-Time Employment
Location: San Jose, CA
Travel: ~75% travel expected (mostly California & west coast/ 25% nationwide). When not onsite with customers you will work remotely.
Job Summary:
Installation, repair, and process engineering support of SMT automation equipment
Key Responsibilities:
- Field Installation of Surface Mount automation equipment throughout North America.
- Field Troubleshoot, Repair, Training, and Process support of Surface Mount Automation equipment.
- Field Custom Modification & Retrofit of Automation equipment.
- Customer Management.
- Engineering Level Technical Phone Support.
- Engineering Level data collection including written and oral reports.
- Comprehension of Electrical schematic, blueprint, and mechatronics drawings.
- Capability of working in both team and independent work environments with limited supervision.
- Strong verbal communication skills with both customer and other company Technical Depts.
- Knowledge of Windows and being comfortable installing software.
- Flexibility to travel and perform job assignments at short notice.
- Strong Aptitude with current computing applications and networking processes.
- Travel within the US and Canada - approximately 75% of time will be local travel.
- Other duties as assigned by the Manager.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience with electrical and mechanical diagnostics/repairs in a customer-facing environment.
- Aptitude with modern PC applications & networking concepts.
- Electronics manufacturing industry experience required.
- Employees are required daily to stand, walk, and work with hand and automated tools.
- Employees are required to climb or balance, reach for controls, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and stand for long periods.
- Individuals may be required to lift and move at least 50 lbs.
- Must be able to represent the company in a professional manner at all times.
- Individuals must have excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
- This position requires knowledge of general office procedures and computer literacy.
- The employee must also be a team player that is capable of acting in a manner that maintains harmony and cooperation within the company and customers alike.
- Individuals must possess strong analytical skills.
- Must have the flexibility for frequent travel on short notice.
- Must live within 30 minutes of the San Jose area by car.
- Previous experience working in the USA is required.
- Must be able to work without sponsorship.

Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
