What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coordinator, Career and Internships position at CULTURAL EXPERIENCES ABROAD LLC?
Your Role:
As Career and Internship Coordinator at CEA CAPA Barcelona, you will be responsible for supporting the coordination of CEA CAPA’s regular and custom Internship and Business Consulting programs for the Summer term: establishing and maintaining relationships with local companies and institutions, overseeing the placement of interns, ensuring a positive and educational experience, and liaising between participating companies and internal business consulting faculty or partner institution faculty. Other responsibilities involve supporting CEA CAPA Barcelona with various tasks and with pre-departure, arrival, and program delivery tasks as needed.
This is a full-time, temporary contract position.
What You’ll Do:
Career and Internship Coordinator tasks include but are not limited to:
Partner Organizations
- Establish agreements with organizations for internship and business consulting opportunities, maintain open communication with them, and support them throughout the onboarding and placement process.
- Ensure new organizations are compliant with CEA CAPA’s Health and Safety Career and Internship
Program Policies
- Support the Career and Internship Team in certifying new organizations.
- Maintain accurate records of company contacts and internship opportunities.
- Visit new companies to ensure the workspace and professional environment meets CEA CAPA’s standards.
Students
- Review student application materials and coordinate student placements.
- Provide career development support as part of the placement and delivery process.
- Deliver specific orientation sessions, workshops, follow-up meetings, farewell meetings, etc.
- Assist students with day-to-day requests (career coaching, internship support, mock interviews, mock Business Consulting presentations).
Faculty/Academic Staff
- Coordinate with the Global Internship Course and Business Consulting instructors, communicate guidelines, and assist with program delivery tasks.
- Communicate with the abovementioned instructors to identify student challenges at their placements and support students as needed.
- Attend regular faculty and staff meetings.
Other
- Participate in the general Student Orientation sessions and arrival tasks.
- Attend welcome and farewell receptions with students.
- Take part in the company’s emergency phone shifts, ensuring availability to provide prompt assistance in emergency situations.
- Leading groups of students during cultural activities (inside and outside of Barcelona).
- Flexibility to assist other departments with different tasks when needed.
What Makes a Great Candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal, in English and Spanish.
- Proven organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

- Team player with a proactive and solution-driven mindset.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in recruitment, career services, or internship coordination.
- Knowledge of Barcelona’s business landscape and local companies.
- Familiarity with matching candidates to roles based on skills and preferences.
- Ability to work in dynamic, high-pressure environments and under the pressure of deadlines.
