Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer 2. The work will be done onsite in Tucson, AZ. This is a long-term position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $35/hr full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
The Mechanical Engineer 2 will support the design, development, and validation of mechanical systems and components for advanced industrial equipment. This role involves reviewing engineering drawings, analyzing system performance, and troubleshooting mechanical issues to support product quality and reliability. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet standards and performance requirements. This position offers strong exposure to product development, design validation, and engineering best practices in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Research, design, and support development of mechanical components and systems
• Review and validate engineering drawings to ensure compliance with standards and specifications
• Investigate equipment failures and recommend corrective actions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support design improvements and product quality
• Assist in creating and maintaining engineering documentation and design packages
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (Associate degree with relevant experience considered)
• 1–4 years of relevant experience (internships accepted)
• Experience with CAD software (preferably PTC Creo)
• Basic understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Teamcenter or similar PLM systems
• Knowledge of ASME engineering standards
• Experience working in manufacturing or industrial environments
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
