Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Design Engineer 1. The work will be done onsite in Alpharetta, GA. This is a 12-month long-term position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $34.83/hr full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
Cullerton Group is seeking a Design Engineer 1 to support engineering and production teams with electrical hardware controls design, CAD drawings, and manufacturing documentation. This role will focus on creating and modifying schematic drawing packages, BOMs, wire lists, and device labels while supporting production and startup activities in a collaborative engineering environment. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to support hardware-related design updates and ensure accurate documentation for manufacturing operations. This position offers strong growth potential for early-career engineers looking to build experience in electrical controls and design engineering.
Key Responsibilities
• Create and modify CAD and schematic drawing packages for manufacturing and startup support
• Develop BOMs, wire lists, and device labels for production teams
• Support production engineers with hardware-related design updates and custom wiring layouts
• Participate in project and team meetings to support ongoing engineering initiatives
• Assist with troubleshooting and resolving design or system-related issues as needed
Required Qualifications
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field
• 0–2 years of engineering or design experience; relevant internships accepted
• Experience reading and understanding electrical schematic drawings
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or Eplan
• Basic understanding of electrical hardware controls and schematic design
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self-management skills, adaptability, and strong work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting manufacturing or production engineering environments
• Familiarity with BOM creation, wire lists, and device labeling
• Exposure to electrical panel layouts and hardware controls
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
• Experience collaborating in cross-functional engineering teams
