Sous Chef/Kitchen Manager

This is a full time Sous Chef position with benefits that requires nights and weekends, averaging 50 hours a week. Every Friday and Saturday night, we turn into a Latin nightclub from 11pm-2am, but Sous Chefs are not scheduled past 12am. We are looking for BOH leaders that have strong culinary skills, and are also able to teach and develop their team.

Qualifications:

• 2 years previous experience as a Sous Chef in a fast-paced restaurant with high culinary standards.
• The advantage goes to candidates with a culinary school diploma or ServSafe certification.
• Adhere to food safety standards.
• Strong culinary and knife skills. 
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to speak, read and write English. Spanish is a plus.

The restaurant’s premium cocktail selection uses a wide variety of fresh ingredients including numerous tropical fruits and juices. Cuba Libre presses, by hand, hundreds of pounds of fresh sugar cane weekly to extract sugar cane juice, known as guarapo, used to sweeten its signature cocktail, the mojito.
Cuba Libre recognizes the importance of music and rhythm in Cuban culture, transforming after dinner on weekends into a late-night Latin hot spot featuring DJs spinning a mix of Latin music, with live performers and dancing.

Salary : $50,000 - $60,000
