Responsible for the supervision of the Operations department. Solve escalated member issues and help with complex member questions or work-related matters. Guide Member Service Representatives (MSR) in the efficient handling of member needs and accurate transactional processes. Demonstrate strong management skills and is able to handle multiple assignments and priorities. Able to conduct loan interviews and enter appropriate information into system. Demonstrate a passion for people, commitment to service, is self-motivated and flexible with working hours.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Supervise the activities of the teller operations area by assigning work, answering questions, solving problems, helping with complex transactions and sensitive member relations problems. Explain policies and procedures to members as a communication tool.

2. Ensure that staff is trained and cross-trained in all phases of their particular jobs to ensure the delivery of quality service to members and to ensure accuracy in transactions.

3. Evaluate the job performance of subordinates to ensure quality member service and accurate transactions.

4. Develop, apply, and evaluate policies and procedures for the department.

5. Manage and recommend the purchase of equipment and supplies.

6. Maintain an adequate supply of traveler’s checks, money orders, and cashier’s checks.

7. Maintain comprehensive, up-to-date knowledge of all State and Federal regulations that are applicable to the transactions performed in the cashier/MSR area. Knowledgeable on all credit union policies and processes within the Member Services area, with particular attention to the Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act and with cash controls and robbery procedures.

8. Ensure that safety and security policies are up to date and training provided on safety and security procedures.

9. Serve as vault teller for the credit union, which includes ordering the cash and currency, verifying cash received, filling MSR cash orders, maintaining full vault security, and balancing vault cash nightly.

10. Approve member exceptions and authorize service fee refunds to members when deemed necessary.

11. Oversee proper availability of daily cash, money orders, and traveler’s checks.

12. Investigate MSR losses and institute corrective flow or work and/or corrective disciplinary action where required.

13. Analyze the work flow on an on-going basis to determine staffing requirements. Oversee work schedules for full-time and part-time employees in the Member Services area to ensure proper service to members.

14. Scheduled and give performance reviews and recommend salary adjustments.

15. Fulfill the responsibilities of the Branch Manager in his/her absence.

16. Assist in any area as directed by the Branch Manager/Vice President of Member Services.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Knowledgeable of all MSR duties and responsibilities.

2. Able to conduct loan interviews, enter appropriate information into the system, book loans and audit loan files.

3. Possesses a detailed, working knowledge of all credit union policies and federal regulations.

4. Possess basic knowledge of Hawaii Employment Laws.

5. Demonstrates good analytical skills and works independently.

6. Demonstrates strong time management skills and is able to manage multiple assignments and priorities.

7. Possesses strong issue-resolution and leadership skills.

8. Exhibits competent decision making and problem solving skills.

9. Good oral and written communication skills.

10. Demonstrates a passion for people and a commitment to service.

11. Exhibits a positive and energetic attitude.

12. Demonstrates an ability to be a team-player, self-motivated and flexible with working hours.

13. Demonstrates an ability and desire to thrive in a challenging fast paced work environment.

14. Possesses the ability to handle confidential information concerning members as well as staff.

15. Maintains a professional appearance and behavior.

Education and Experience:

1. Minimum two years financial experience.

2. Minimum five years of work experience with the credit union. (Preferred)

3. Minimum two years leadership or supervisory experience (Preferred).

4. Associates Degree in a related field (Preferred).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
