Job Summary

Residence Life at the University of Colorado Boulder focuses on student success through implementing innovative programs and services that promote co-curricular engagement. This position is focused on the assembly and support of all Student Employees, Student Leaders, and Professional Staff in Residence Life. This position partners with the Staff Experience Coordinators, the Senior Assistant Director of Staff Experience, and other department staff to advance and implement the department's vision for a comprehensive employee experience. Responsibilities include facilitating recruitment, selection, onboarding, professional development, and staff evaluation processes.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Staff Experience Operations

  • Under the direction of the Senior Assistant Director of Staff Experience, coordinate and administer Residence Life employee lifecycle processes by supporting recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, payroll administration, compliance, and performance management for professional staff, student employees, and student leaders.
  • Coordinate recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management processes for Residence Life professional staff, student employees, and student leaders.
  • Serve as the primary administrative liaison with Student Life Employee Experience and other university partners to ensure compliance with university employment policies, procedures, and timelines.
  • Develop and maintain hiring timelines, recruitment materials, onboarding processes, and employment documentation to support efficient staffing operations.
  • Coordinate performance evaluation processes, maintain evaluation tools, and facilitate supervisor norming sessions to promote consistent and equitable evaluation practices.
  • Coordinate required employee training programs, maintain training records, and monitor completion of required institutional and departmental trainings.
  • Administer student employment processes, including work-study verification, employment eligibility, payroll transactions, employment status changes, and personnel documentation.
  • Verify student employment eligibility through university systems, including enrollment, GPA, conduct standing, and work-study requirements.
  • Maintain accurate employment records, reports, and documentation while finding opportunities to improve administrative processes and operational efficiency.

Administrative Operations

  • Coordinate the administrative systems, business processes, and operational support necessary to maintain efficient Residence Life staffing operations.
  • Serve as the departmental administrator for Residence Life hiring and employment software, including StarRez, eRezLife, CCure, SALTO, WhenToWork, and other departmental systems.
  • Coordinate user account setup, permissions, and system access for professional staff, student employees, and student leaders while assisting staff with technical troubleshooting.
  • Lead employment communications with applicants, supervisors, campus partners, and university departments throughout the recruitment and onboarding process.
  • Maintain the Residence Life student employment website, standard operating procedures, and administrative resources to ensure information remains accurate and current.
  • Coordinate departmental administrative and fiscal processes while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with university policies.
  • Monitor the student employment payroll budget and assist supervisors in managing student employee work hours within approved allocations.
  • Prepare reports, maintain records, and assist with data collection to support departmental planning, assessment, and decision-making.
  • Perform additional administrative and operational responsibilities to support departmental priorities.

External Relations

  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with campus partners, including Human Resources, Student Affairs IT, Buff OneCard, and other university departments, to support recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, technology access, and student employment processes.
  • Coordinate hiring and onboarding processes for Conference Services student employees in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Residential Operations, ensuring employment requirements are completed accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate informational sessions, workshops, outreach activities, and recruitment marketing efforts that promote Residence Life employment opportunities to a broad and diverse student population.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of supervisor training related to hiring practices, interview processes, application review, hiring standards, and bias reduction strategies.
  • Support departmental initiatives related to employee experience, staff development, enrollment, orientation, employee recognition, and other strategic priorities as assigned.
  • Collect, maintain, and analyze employment records, reports, and assessment data while reviewing administrative processes and recommending improvements that enhance efficiency, consistency, and customer service.
  • Represent Residence Life on departmental and university committees as assigned while ensuring employment practices and administrative processes align with university policies and departmental expectations.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employment information and provide administrative support for special projects, departmental initiatives, and other duties as assigned.

Emergency Response

  • Uphold departmental and university emergency response procedures.
  • Serve as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) and fulfill required Clery Act reporting responsibilities.
What You Should Know

This is a temporary role that will be working remote. We anticipate this assignment lasting through January 1, 2027.

What We Can Offer

The hourly pay for this position is $24 - 27/hour.

What We Require
  • Bachelor's degree. (Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.)
  • One year of direct professional experience working with college students, or 2 years of direct graduate experience working with college students.
  • Experience with the CU Boulder Residence Life department.

  • Experience with supervision, budget management, advising, and divisional collaboration.

Essential Services
