CTX Auto Transport is a locally and independently owned car hauling business with trucks based in the Austin and San Antonio area. Our main operations are out of the Buda, Texas area. We've been in business for 10 years and have consistent year after year growth and now have 6 trucks that are all large 18 wheeler car carriers. I am looking for someone that can manage and run this business as well or better than I do. This is NOT a work from home dispatch position and is NOT easy. As a car hauler manager in this type of operation you'll basically need to be a car hauler, manager, dispatcher, and mechanic all in one. No I don't need someone to change oil and tires or work on engines, I need someone that can diagnose the simple issues on trucks and repair when practical or get the proper people to the trucks or trucks to the shops. Management operations consist of managing a team normally of 4-5 drivers currently. You MUST either already know how to haul cars or be able to quickly learn. Dispatch operations consist of handling the orders from normal customers ensuring the needs are met while trucks are dispatched in an efficient manner. When the trucks are slower and there are gaps in the schedules is when the job becomes most challenging. This is when you'll need to find work to fill in those voids by searching some of the load boards and booking new orders. This is currently a 1099 position, I like to keep things simple. Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all aspects of car hauling operations, including dispatching, routing, and fleet management to maximize efficiency and safety.
- Develop and implement process improvement initiatives utilizing Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies to streamline workflows and reduce costs.
- Manage transportation management systems (TMS), and supply chain analytics tools to monitor performance metrics and identify areas for enhancement.
- Oversee budgeting, demand planning, production planning, and procurement activities related to vehicle transportation.
- Collaborate with third-party logistics providers (3PL), and other partners to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
- Monitor freight costs, dispatching schedules, fleet maintenance, and driver compliance to uphold safety standards and operational efficiency.
Skills
- Extensive experience in operations management within transportation or logistics sectors with a focus on car hauling or vehicle transport.
- Strong understanding of profit & loss management to ensure financial health of operations.
- Proven ability in process improvement techniques like Lean and continuous improvement strategies.
- Proficiency with transportation planning software, ERP systems, TMS platforms, and supply chain analytics tools.
- Supervisory experience managing fleet operations.
- Knowledge of freight regulations, shipping & receiving protocols, procurement processes, and inventory control practices.
- Skilled in demand planning, production planning, budgeting, purchasing, procurement strategies, and materials management.
- Strong leadership capabilities with excellent communication skills to motivate teams.
Pay: $125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
