About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Field Service / Start-Up Engineer II to provide on-site service, repair, troubleshooting, and start-up support for semiconductor processing equipment at our customer site, Micron in Boise, Idaho.
In this customer-facing role, you will work closely with engineers, technicians, and customers to minimize equipment downtime, perform upgrades and modifications, and ensure optimal system performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform on-site service and repair of semiconductor processing equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment problems and implement solutions.
- Maintain records, reports, and documentation as required.
- Coordinate activities with peers, supervisors, and customers to reduce downtime.
- Order and install parts; perform upgrades and modifications.
- Respond to emergency service calls and resolve escalations.
- Train customer operating technicians on system operation and maintenance.
- Stay current on equipment/tools through training and technical resources.
- Ensure upkeep, maintenance, and security of company property.
- Adhere to industry safety procedures when working with chemicals, high voltage, or mechanical parts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s degree in Electronics, Engineering, Mechatronics, or Semiconductor program (Bachelor’s preferred).
- 2 years of experience in maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of semiconductor capital equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use appropriate tools.
- Excellent customer interface and communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of technical issues in equipment maintenance and installation.
- Ability to work in confined cleanroom environments, awkward positions, and high places.
- Physical ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and walk long distances during shifts.
- Willingness to travel domestically for training.
- PPE compliance including safety glasses, shoes, and bump cap.
