POSITION SUMMARY:
The Mortgage Operations Officer is responsible for establishing and maintaining loan quality assurance, developing and implementing policy and procedures, monitoring compliances, ensuring data integrity and keeping productivity and quality control on target.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Management Support (75%)
- Act as department liaison and/or as point of contact in conjunction with, or the absence of, Supervisor/Manager to: Compliance, Risk, Legal, Internal Audit, Credit Admin., and Mortgage Loan Servicing Departments
- Participate and lead in the implementation of new programs, products and procedures as they apply to the department, which may include organizing, facilitating, and coordinating projects and user acceptance testing
- Address and resolve complex information inquiries, requests, and escalation matters as required
- Serves as a subject matter expert to business partners and processors through best practice recommendations and policy and procedure guidance
- Support and manage day-to-day operations and loan pipeline management to ensure tasks are completed timely
- Responsible for perform post-closing QC reviews of loan packages, ensuring accuracy and completeness of required signatures, disclosures, and supporting documentation.
- Actively monitors the department’s productivity and prepares reports to management as needed.
- Develops, recommends, and implements changes to improve service levels, production methods, system performance, and loan quality to align with bank strategy and initiatives
- Participate and contribute in establishing and revising of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Processing (25%)
- Setup files, review documentation, enter the data in loan system and maintain the accuracy of system data.
- Review and ensure accuracy of loan package. Order all required verifications, documentation and subsequent follow-up conditions
- Uses knowledge of title conditions to work with Mortgage Loan Officers, escrow/title, and customers to resolve pending conditions and stipulations
- Send initial disclosures and re-disclosures to customers in compliance with all lending laws, rules, and regulations including but not limited to accurate fees and within appropriate time frames.
- Obtains and reviews documents for compliance with loan conditions and product guidelines
- Ensure all loan approval and conditions are received within specified time frames
- Ensure operations in compliance with Federal, State and local laws governing the company's lending activities.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or other relevant Business fields is preferred
- 5 years of Mortgage Processing and Doc Drawing experience required.
- Thorough knowledge of mortgage loan regulations and compliance
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks simultaneous in a fast-paced, diverse, and growth oriented environment
- Proficient with Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. and the ability to learn new systems/applications
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Minimum mobility to work in an office setting; sit for prolonged period of times; operate office equipment including use of a computer keyboard; and reach with hands and arms. Employees are occasionally required to walk and stand and lift and move records and documents weighing 30 pounds or less.
COMMUNICATION DEMANDS:
- Attention to detail, strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, self-motivated, and analytical skills, ability to interact with all levels of management and staff.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to manage difficult conversations to a successful outcome and positive customer experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Standard office environment. Noise level in work environment is usually average. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
COMPENSATION:
The base pay range for this position is USD $75,000.00/Yr. - USD $90,000.00/Yr plus full benefits. Exact offer will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
