What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Quality Engineer position at CSP?
Essential Job Functions:
Maintain and ensure compliance with the plant Quality Management System in alignment with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements- .Lead root cause analysis and drive implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) using structured problem-solving methods (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone)
- .Support the Quality Manager in establishing, implementing, and sustaining plant-level quality systems, standards, and procedures
- .Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing tools (5S, Kaizen) and Six Sigma methodologies
- .Provide statistical analysis (SPC, MSA, capability studies, sampling plans) to monitor process performance and identify improvement opportunities
- .Partner with Engineering and Operations to ensure successful new product launches (APQP/PPAP) and seamless transfer from development into production
- .Act as a key plant-floor resource, supporting production teams in resolving in-process quality issues and reducing scrap, rework, and downtime
- .Support and mentor Quality Inspectors and production personnel to ensure adherence to quality standards and procedures
- .Plan and conduct internal audits, layered process audits, and support external/customer audits; ensure timely closure of findings
- .Investigate customer complaints and internal nonconformances; implement robust corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- .Develop, maintain, and control plant quality documentation (control plans, work instructions, procedures, quality manuals)
- .Oversee incoming and outgoing quality activities, including inspection processes and product release requirements
- .Drive continuous improvement of receiving inspection processes and supplier quality performance
- .Manage supplier quality performance by monitoring metrics, conducting audits, and driving corrective actions
- .Ensure timely resolution of supplier nonconformances and escalation as needed
- .Prepare and present Corrective Action Reports (CARs), quality metrics, and performance updates to plant leadership
- .Support plant KPIs related to quality (PPM, scrap, rework, customer returns, audit results)
