What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Buyer position at CSP?
This will be based out of our Auburn Hills office and supporting a facility in Huntington, IN and Seguin, TX
Essential Job Functions:
· Evaluate and choose sources for production components/materials.
· Identify cost savings opportunities and implement processes
· Coordinates supplier quality issues with plant Quality and supplier until the issues are resolved.
· Interacting with CSP facilities and building strong relationships with the suppliers
· Work closely with Engineering to gain an understanding of program requirements / Coordinate Engineering Changes
· Participates in program kickoff meetings. Works with Sales, Engineering, plant personnel and supplier to ensure duties and timelines are met. Expedites as necessary.
· Participates in Purchasing work sessions to work on new Purchasing policy and procedures.
· Performs a variety of complicated tasks. A wide degree of independence and decision-making latitude is expected.
· May participate on Supplier Quality audits.
Qualifications:
· BA/BS Degree in Business preferred. Additional related job experience may be substituted for all or some education.
· A minimum of 5 years of industrial purchasing experience is required, preferably in the automotive industry. Knowledge of and compliance with TS/ISO requirements and procedures required.
· Demonstrated experience and ability with ERP software and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Demonstrated excellent communication skills and the ability to multi-task in a complex, fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
· Works primarily in an office environment. May occasionally lift or carry light items (up to 25 pounds).
· Job requires sitting, standing, and walking, mostly at the incumbent’s discretion.
· Normal visual acuity required for computer work.
· Infrequent local or overnight travel requirements.
· May be briefly exposed to process heat, chemicals, and other manufacturing hazards (with PPE) as a part of supplier audits.
