About the Role
We’re looking for a skilled Maintenance Machinist to join our Maintenance team. This role is hands‑on, technical, and essential to keeping our fabrication, extrusion, and coating operations running at peak performance. You’ll build, repair, and maintain tooling and mechanical components using both manual and CNC equipment while upholding high safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Builds and repairs parts needed for fabrication, extrusion, and coating application equipment from print or by problem solving. This will include general industrial fabrication and repairs functions with new projects, maintenance, repair, and modification of a wide variety of equipment.
- Performs repairs on machining equipment, including but not limited to lathes and mills.
- Performs welding activities using arc, MIG, and TIG welding, and plasma cutting, oxy-acetylene torch techniques, and silver soldering to ensure proper and safe penetration.
- Performs machining duties and responsibilities on milling machines, lathes, surface grinders, punch press, brake press, and turret punches to build and repair parts. Also, machines shafts, milling keyways, and broaching keyways
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings to plan machining and fabrication steps.
- Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators.
- Makes sure tools are sharpened and tool holders in good working condition before being placed back on shelf or in tool drawers.
- Select appropriate metals and materials based on hardness, heat tolerance, and application requirements.
- Conduct test runs and make adjustments to ensure tools meet performance and quality specifications.
Qualifications
Required:

An Associate’s Degree in a technical field and strong knowledge of tool and die making and fabrication normally acquired through three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a similar position required.

Previous experience with hand and power tools required. Must have own basic tools.

Previous arc, MIG, and TIG welding, plasma cutting, and oxy- acetylene torch techniques, and silver soldering experience strongly preferred.

Must be highly motivated, self-directed and able to work independently.

Ability to perform math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, algebra and geometry. Must also be able to convert metric measurements to English system.

Able to perform acute, precise measurements using a gauge tables, tape measure, caliper, micrometer or other measuring equipment.

Must have basic computer skills.

Ability to read manuals, blueprints and drawings.

Ability to work on a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions
- Manufacturing environment without climate control; may involve high temperatures.
- Exposure to substances associated with extrusion, paint, and fabrication processes.
- Mandatory overtime may be required.
- Work may involve tight deadlines and high‑pressure situations.
- Must follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
