Role Overview
As a CNC Programmer, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce high-quality precision parts according to specifications. You will work with various materials and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD/CAM programs to manufacture components that meet strict quality standards and tolerances. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who takes pride in producing exceptional work while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation & Setup
- Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes to perform machining operations including drilling, boring, milling, turning, and threading
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, and CAD/CAM files to determine machining specifications and requirements
- Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials for each job based on specifications and material properties
- Load programs into CNC machines and verify program accuracy through simulation and test runs
- Establish work offsets, tool offsets, and machine parameters to ensure accurate part production
- Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments to feeds, speeds, and tool paths to optimize performance
