- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid driver’s license required
- Previous maintenance experience preferred
- Health care or long-term care maintenance experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to read, write, understand, and follow oral and written instructions
- Basic computer knowledge
- Strong willingness and ability to learn
- General knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, boilers, compressors, and generators preferred
- Knowledge of basic safety regulations and building codes
- Ability to perform general carpentry, painting, sheetrock repair, groundskeeping, and other facility maintenance duties
- Strong communication skills when interacting with residents, families, visitors, and staff
- Dependable, organized, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Must be willing to participate in an on-call rotation for facility maintenance emergencies
The Maintenance Technician will work closely with the Maintenance Director to help maintain the facility, equipment, and grounds and to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for residents and staff.
Responsibilities Include
- Assist with the facility’s preventive maintenance program
- Complete routine maintenance and repairs throughout the building and grounds
- Perform weekly and monthly maintenance inspections and checks
- Assist with maintaining compliance with applicable fire, safety, and building codes
- Perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and sheetrock repairs as needed
- Assist with maintenance and troubleshooting of HVAC and other facility equipment
- Maintain facility grounds and assist with groundskeeping duties
- Complete daily trash pickup and help maintain the appearance of exterior areas
- Identify maintenance concerns and communicate needed repairs to the Maintenance Director
- Respond promptly to maintenance-related issues throughout the facility
- Assist with emergency maintenance situations as needed
- Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned
