Crown Staffing is currently seeking experienced Edge Folder Operators to fill openings with a local Manufacturing company in Nashville, IL.
Job Summary:
The Edge Folder Operator is responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of edge folding machines used in the production of automotive components. This role ensures precise forming and bending of metal parts according to engineering specifications and quality standards, contributing to the manufacturing of high-quality automotive assemblies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate edge folder machines (manual or CNC-controlled) to bend, fold, or form metal components as per production drawings and specifications.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders to determine appropriate tooling and machine settings.
- Inspect raw materials and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards; perform first-off and in-process quality checks.
- Adjust machine settings to correct defects or improve product quality and efficiency.
- Monitor machine operations and report any mechanical issues or malfunctions to maintenance personnel.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on machinery and ensure work area is clean and organized.
- Work closely with quality assurance and engineering teams to resolve non-conformances and improve processes.
- Record production data, including quantities, run times, and any issues encountered.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and wear required PPE at all times.
- Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- 1–3 years of experience in a metal forming or fabrication environment
- Familiarity with sheet metal and steel forming processes
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude
- Strong attention to detail and quality focus
- Physical ability to stand, bend, lift (up to 50 lbs), and work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
- Experience operating CNC-controlled edge folders (e.g., RAS, Jorns, Schechtl, etc.)
- Knowledge of automotive quality standards (e.g., IATF 16949, ISO 9001)
- Forklift or crane operation certification
Work Environment:
- Automotive manufacturing plant environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and metalworking processes
- PPE required (safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, etc.)
- Shift work may be required, including overtime or weekends
