CNC Set-Up Technician Job Details
Fort Wayne, IN
Shift: Monday–Friday | 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Training Schedule: 1st Shift | 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Approx. 3 Weeks)

CNC Set-Up Technician Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 2–5 years of CNC lathe setup experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience performing machine setups, tooling changes, and production changeovers
- Ability to read and interpret G and M codes
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
- Experience using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and indicators
- Knowledge of machining processes including hard turning, milling, broaching, and part finishing
- Understanding of manufacturing and machining processes in high-volume production environments
- Experience with robot or gantry pickup point adjustments preferred
- Knowledge of Nachi robot controls is a plus
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities on off shifts
About the CNC Set-Up Technician Role
Crown Staffing is seeking skilled CNC Set-Up Technicians for a manufacturing facility in Fort Wayne, IN. This role focuses on CNC machine setup, troubleshooting, tooling adjustments, and supporting high-volume production operations involving CNC lathes and automated manufacturing equipment.
The ideal candidate will have strong machining knowledge, setup experience, and the ability to troubleshoot production issues efficiently while maintaining quality and production standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform CNC lathe setups and production machine changeovers
- Troubleshoot machine and production issues during operation
- Update tooling paths and support CNC programming adjustments
- Replace indicators, chucks, and tooling for production changes
- Troubleshoot loading devices and minor machine issues
- Verify product quality and tolerances using precision measuring tools
- Support robot and gantry pickup point adjustments when needed
- Maintain safe, organized, and efficient work areas
- Support production efficiency and minimize downtime
- Follow all company safety and production procedures
