Occupational Therapist Position Responsibilities
- Practices occupational therapy as an occupational therapist in an acute care, medical center and also in varied outpatient settings.
- Works in accordance with the practice act for New York State, which includes the evaluation and treatment or the prevention of disability, injury and disease.
- Responsible for planning, supervising, carrying out occupational therapy treatment programs.
- Actively participates in and supports department quality assurance programs, education and customer service programs.
- Works as part of the health care team across department lines and supervises aides and other staff and performs other duties as assigned.
- Current New York State Occupational Therapy license.
- Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at the time of hire or within 2 weeks after hire.
- Demonstrates a clear understanding of the practice act for New York State and Occupational Therapy.
- Demonstrates clear written and oral communications skills and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with other health care professionals, patients and caregivers.
