What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Development Manager, gt.school - $200,000/year USD position at Crossover?
- On-site position in Miami or NYC (relocation assistance available)
- $200,000 annual compensation, distributed weekly
At GT.School, our gifted K–6 learners (with plans to expand through K–12) use adaptive learning technology to progress 5–10x faster than conventional classrooms. Afternoons are dedicated to building emotional intelligence and life skills under Guides who coach rather than lecture. Every student must achieve three outcomes: genuine enthusiasm for school, 5–10x accelerated learning, and mastery of skills no curriculum can teach. You'll support a new campus launch by coaching students and the Guides responsible for these results. This is a player-coach role: you deliver outcomes for your own student cohort while coaching 2–4 Guides and enforcing standards most schools avoid.
Your day begins with data. Coachbot analytics reveal which students are progressing and which require intervention. By mid-morning you're facilitating a life skills session—public speaking, focus, feedback exchange—following the playbook but injecting the energy that captivates kids. Post-lunch you observe a Guide's session, then provide them with three concrete steps to refine their approach. On other days you lead motivation huddles, converting leaderboard rankings and school currency into momentum. You remain directly engaged with your cohort while developing Guides capable of meeting your standard, and as they succeed, your influence scales from one cohort to an entire campus.
You'll witness reserved children present with confidence to adults. You'll see a student who once "hated school" request extra time. And you'll recognize that the standard you maintained made it possible. If you've built high-performance teams and are prepared to do so for gifted children: apply now.
What You Will Be Doing
- Coaching 2–4 Guides via live and recorded session reviews, individual feedback sessions, and monitored development goals — with performance issues resolved in days, not semesters
- Facilitating playbook-based life skills sessions (public speaking, focus, feedback exchange) that are structured, high-energy, and assessed for mastery through Test2Pass
- Analyzing Coachbot analytics and student progress metrics daily to pinpoint students requiring intervention, then intervening directly
- Facilitating motivation sessions that push 100% of students toward weekly learning targets using age-appropriate incentives such as school currency and leaderboards
- Coaching your own student cohort directly, demonstrating the coaching standard you require from all Guides
- Creating lesson plans or designing curriculum — students advance through adaptive technology; your focus is making the people around them exceptional
- Delivering lectures to a classroom — you're 80% performer, 20% subject-matter; if you prefer a whiteboard, look elsewhere
- Accepting when a student is "close enough" — 100% mastery is non-negotiable, and compromising that standard isn't compassion
- Overseeing campus-wide operations, budgets, or parent communications — those responsibilities belong to the Campus Lead
Reliably produce accelerated academic growth and life-skills mastery across all student cohorts by coaching Guides and directly owning student results at a new gt.school campus.
