What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Success Coach, Alpha - $100,000/year USD position at Crossover?
Many educators burn out fighting a system that resists change. They write lesson plans filed away unread. They endure meetings that produce no results. You recognized long ago that the real work is something else entirely. The real work is the student sitting in front of you.
Alpha uses software to deliver academic instruction. Adaptive applications guide students through content at an individualized pace. There are no lectures, no homework assignments, and no grading. This structure allows you to focus on what genuinely transforms outcomes: facilitating life skill workshops where teens develop public speaking abilities, concentration techniques, and feedback literacy, followed by individualized coaching sessions that keep them engaged and progressing toward their learning targets. You'll spend roughly half your time facilitating group sessions. The remainder is dedicated to one-on-one conversations, using Coachbot analytics to pinpoint exactly where a student is struggling and why.
After every workshop, students complete a mastery-based assessment. You should consistently receive positive ratings from over 90% of participants. Every student should be making steady progress in their learning apps. These are not stretch goals; they define baseline performance. Maintaining rigorous expectations demonstrates your confidence in their potential. In this role, you will develop expertise in creating workshops that energize teenagers, utilizing advanced learning platforms, and forging meaningful relationships with students and families. Our Brownsville campus is located adjacent to SpaceX. The cutting edge of education meets the cutting edge of aerospace, and you will be the one fulfilling Alpha's central commitment: students who are excited about school, learn at double the typical rate, and acquire competencies that translate to real life. If you have been searching for a school structured around your vision of how education should function, you have found it.
