What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coach, Alpha - $100,000/year USD position at Crossover?
When a student reaches 99% of their weekly target, the most meaningful thing you can do is hold the line. Not out of rigidity, but because you know they can finish—and lowering the standard would be the actual disservice.
This role is not about traditional teaching. At Alpha, academic content is delivered through AI-driven adaptive learning software. There are no lectures, no textbooks, no lessons at the whiteboard. Instead, motivation and life skills—typically afterthoughts in conventional schools—become your entire focus.
Imagine a typical Tuesday. You spend half your time facilitating one-hour sessions for a K-8 group on topics like public speaking, focus, and constructive feedback. The other half is spent in one-on-one or small-group conversations, reviewing Coachbot data, and using tools like school currency, leaderboards, and the trust you've established to guide every student to 100% completion of their weekly app objectives.
Your success each quarter rests on three metrics: all students in your cohort complete their weekly app targets, all students pass the Test2Pass mastery check for each workshop, and at least 90% report that they love working with you. Fall short on any one of these, and you've missed the mark.
The reward comes when a student who once insisted they were terrible at math asks you to increase their goal—sometime in October, after weeks of your support.
This is a full-time, on-site position at an Alpha campus. We hire nationally, so this posting may appear in nearby cities where we do not yet operate a campus.
Active openings at this salary level are in Scottsdale, AZ; Oklahoma City and Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Dallas, Plano, Fort Worth, Houston, and Brownsville, TX; Springfield, MA; and Park City, UT.
If you're drawn to a different Alpha campus, apply regardless and note your preferred location—we'll route your application accordingly.
If you've coached youth sports, led a group at summer camp, or tutored a student on the verge of quitting, the final step before an offer is spending a full day on campus coaching actual Alpha students. If that sounds like the part you're most excited about, submit your application today.
