- Austin, TX (onsite role)

At Texas Sports Academy, your next challenge is developing champions—not from the sidelines, but through direct, daily coaching that pushes students beyond perceived limits. You won't simply recount your achievements. You'll convert elite-level athletic discipline into concrete motivational frameworks, deliver resilience training through interactive workshops, and conduct rigorous practices where championship standards apply to every participant.
Austin provides year-round outdoor training opportunities, a robust sports community, and a purpose-driven environment where your elite background becomes the cornerstone for mentoring emerging leaders.
Coach with intention. Drive transformation through engagement. Apply today.
What You Will Be Doing
- Conducting proactive individual motivation sessions where you apply your athletic discipline to develop targeted, actionable coaching approaches
- Delivering high-energy morning assemblies that activate the full student body
- Leading interactive life skills workshops where you directly coach students on resilience, leadership, and goal-setting practices
- Directing structured afternoon athletic training that embodies championship principles: creating drills, demanding effort, refining technique, and instilling grit and teamwork through sport (not merely overseeing activities)
- Engaging proactively with all students throughout the day: moving through spaces during independent study periods, stepping in to energize students who are struggling, and generating teachable moments that catalyze breakthrough performance
- Operating as a passive observer from the sidelines: this is not a ceremonial or advisory position. You'll be on the ground, actively working with students, leading sessions, and intervening as situations unfold.
- Delivering traditional academic instruction or adhering to a set curriculum: students engage with adaptive learning applications. Your function is life coaching, motivation, and cultivating meta-skills through athletics and mentorship.
Sports Performance Coach key responsibilities
- We're seeking former elite athletes who have competed at the highest tier of sport — Olympians, World Champions, professional athletes in the NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, or NHL, or NCAA Division I All-Americans
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline
- Demonstrated experience applying sport as a vehicle to mentor and develop life skills
- Proven motivational leadership in athletic, academic, or professional contexts
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
- Willingness to reside in or relocate to Austin, TX
