What are the responsibilities and job description for the Remote Youth Mentor, Unbound Academy - $40,000/year USD position at Crossover?
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a hybrid role that requires physical presence in Arizona.
What if your role involved keeping students motivated, engaged, and eager to participate—without the burden of lesson planning, assessment, or academic instruction?
This position is designed for individuals who excel at working with young people and thrive in dynamic settings. At Unbound Academy's fully virtual, tuition-free charter school, students progress rapidly through their academics using AI-powered tools, then dedicate the remainder of their day to live, interactive workshops centered on life skills, teamwork, and self-assurance. Your responsibility is to ensure these moments flow seamlessly and resonate positively with students.
You'll serve as the connective force of the student experience. You'll facilitate transitions, guide small groups, maintain high energy, and intervene when a student requires encouragement or direction. You won't deliver academic content—but the experience cannot succeed without you.
If you have experience guiding young people in camps, extracurricular programs, athletics, tutoring, or youth-focused organizations—and you're drawn to a hybrid role that combines virtual engagement with in-person teamwork—this is an opportunity to make school feel meaningful again.
What You Will Be Doing
Facilitate dynamic, virtual learning environments by ensuring students stay engaged, organized, and motivated throughout every workshop session.
