What are the responsibilities and job description for the Principal Learning Consultant, Alpha - $200,000/year USD position at Crossover?
- On-site positions in Greenwich, CT | Bethesda, MD | Chicago, IL | Piedmont, CA
- $200,000 annual salary, distributed weekly. Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage from day one
- Relocation assistance provided
Alpha students do not passively absorb lectures. They advance rapidly through adaptive technology, absorb material at double the speed of conventional classrooms, and acquire practical life competencies throughout. Your responsibility is to ensure three commitments are fulfilled for every child in your group: they enjoy their education, they accelerate learning by 2x, and they develop skills beyond any curriculum. You will also train the Guides who uphold these same commitments across your location.
Each morning begins with analytics. Performance data reveals which students are progressing and which require additional support. By late morning, you are facilitating a live session, guiding K-8 students through exercises in public speaking or concentration using Alpha's structured methods. Post-lunch, you observe a Guide in action, then provide them with three concrete steps to refine their approach. On certain days, you serve as the energizer during motivation sessions, converting leaderboard standings into momentum. You remain directly engaged with your own student group while cultivating Guides capable of meeting your benchmark and as their capacity grows, your influence extends from a single cohort to an entire campus.
You will observe reserved children speak with confidence before adults. You will encounter a student who once "despised school" requesting to remain after hours. And you will understand that the standard you maintained is precisely what enabled their progress because upholding expectations is how you demonstrate belief in someone's potential to meet them.
If you have exceeded benchmarks, transformed struggling performers into high achievers, and are prepared to accomplish this for children: submit your application today.
What You Will Be Doing
- Facilitating one-hour live sessions with K-8 students focused on life competencies such as public speaking, concentration, and feedback exchange, adhering to Alpha's structured framework
- Developing Guides through direct observation, precise feedback, and practical training to ensure they facilitate sessions with equivalent energy and accuracy
- Conducting daily motivation sessions designed to propel 100% of students toward their weekly learning objectives using developmentally appropriate incentives including school currency and leaderboards
- Analyzing Coachbot data and student records to pinpoint individuals requiring intervention, then providing direct support
- Directly mentoring your own small student group, demonstrating the coaching and motivational techniques you require from every Guide
- Developing lesson plans or creating curriculum. Students advance through adaptive technology; your role is to elevate the people supporting them.
- Delivering traditional classroom lectures. You operate as 80% motivator, 20% content expert; if your preference is standing at a whiteboard, this role is not suited for you.
- Accepting "close enough" as sufficient. 100% mastery is the standard, and compromising it is not compassion.
- Spending time in an office managing administrative tasks. The majority of your day involves direct interaction with students and Guides.
Fulfill Alpha's 3 Promises: every child enjoys school, accelerates learning at 2x pace, and develops life skills, throughout your cohort and those led by your Guides.
