What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pre-K Lead Guide, Alpha - $150,000/year USD position at Crossover?
- Onsite position in Austin, TX. Relocation assistance available
- $150,000 annual compensation, disbursed weekly
- Health, dental, and vision coverage effective day one
Alpha's approach to education departs from conventional schooling. Our PreK offering integrates play-centered curriculum development with live developmental tracking — no scripted lessons, no procedural checklists. You will architect adaptive learning experiences spanning all readiness areas, mentor a team of Guides in executing them with both precision and enthusiasm, and monitor measurable milestone achievement for each child in your cohort.
This role is grounded in direct practice. Approximately one-third of your time will be spent in active classroom environments — demonstrating facilitation methods, observing live sessions, and conducting calibration reviews. The remainder involves curriculum architecture, coaching Guides toward specific and measurable outcomes, and communicating evidence-informed progress to families. Your influence will be tangible: four-year-olds reaching developmental benchmarks ahead of schedule, Guides advancing their quality metrics weekly, and parents transforming into champions.
Coach your team. Architect the learning. Apply today.
What You Will Be Doing
- Conduct 1:1 and small-group coaching with PreK Guides, demonstrating strategies and acknowledging measurable progress
- Architect and execute play-based learning sessions balancing social-emotional learning, literacy, numeracy, and motor development, exemplifying excellence for your team
- Assess and align Guide documentation on a weekly basis for rubric consistency and clarity, facilitating calibration meetings to maintain milestone visibility
- Develop family communications and facilitate team alignment meetings that synchronize priorities and uphold collective standards for campus-wide PreK readiness targets
- Executing fixed lesson plans or compliance-oriented protocols — you will create responsive, play-centered themes informed by live data
- Delivering a predetermined curriculum dictated by central office — you control quarterly and weekly instructional design
- Operating independently without structured reflection — coaching dialogues and calibration reviews are embedded weekly
- Overseeing K-12 learners on digital platforms — this position is entirely devoted to early childhood, direct, in-room engagement
Advance campus-wide PreK readiness results through guide mentorship, program consistency, and engaging, evidence-informed classrooms.
