What You Will Be Doing
- Facilitating 1-hour outdoor life-skills workshops focused on public speaking, focus, leadership, and teamwork through nature-based challenges and adventure activities
- Conducting brief, high-impact motivational sessions where you guide students toward achieving academic objectives using adaptive software
- Animating curriculum through storytelling, personalization, and dynamic energy that maintains strong K-12 student engagement
- Implementing safety protocols and outdoor best practices (route planning, weather monitoring, equipment checks, Leave No Trace principles) according to Waypoint's field standards
- Evaluating skill mastery by having students demonstrate real-world application of the life skills they've learned
- Maintaining rigorous standards of excellence while serving as an approachable, motivating role model students genuinely respect
Outdoor Education Teacher key responsibilities
- Bachelor's degree in any field
- At least 3 years of experience working with K-12 students in educational settings, camps, coaching roles, or outdoor programs
- Demonstrated history of high achievement in academic, athletic, or professional contexts
- Strong public speaking skills with the ability to energize and maintain attention for large student groups, both indoors and outdoors
- Innate ability to connect with K-12 learners, understanding their interests and culture, while serving as a positive role model who challenges them to develop—not simply as a peer
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
- Commitment to working onsite at Waypoint Academy's campus in Dripping Springs, TX (Austin vicinity)
- First aid or wilderness safety certification

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record.
