What are the responsibilities and job description for the Math Subject Matter Expert, gt.school (Remote) - $100,000/year USD position at Crossover?
You're a middle-school mathematics specialist who catches incorrect fractions across multiple browser tabs. You've worked with students in grades 4–8 through teaching or tutoring (or possess equivalent experience and subject depth), you compose feedback that learners can immediately apply, and you refuse to allow "almost right" into any material students depend on.
We're developing an AI-driven mathematics content platform that delivers questions, articles, and videos at scale, but we reject the idea that volume matters when mathematical accuracy or instructional clarity suffers. The field prioritizes "produce more." Our focus is "deliver better." Your role serves as the human checkpoint preventing thousands of learners from absorbing an AI's overconfident errors, vague explanations, or subtly compromised standards.
This position centers on rigorous quality control of AI-generated middle school mathematics content: verifying correctness, reasoning, grade appropriateness, and instructional design; identifying conceptual pitfalls, unclear language, and faulty logic; and delivering precise, structured feedback enabling rapid correction by another team. This work demands exacting standards, meticulous attention, and absolute refusal to permit mathematically flawed or pedagogically damaging content into circulation.
You'll function within the content workflow as the last checkpoint before publication, evaluating material provided through spreadsheets or proprietary tools and converting your expert judgment into clear issue documentation. If you work efficiently without sacrificing accuracy, identify problems without verbose explanations, and prioritize student outcomes over diplomatic machine feedback, this role fits you.
What You Will Be Doing
GT School is revolutionizing education with AI, expert coaching, and 50 years of learning science. They blend cutting-edge tech with data-driven insights to unlock every student's full potential.
They're on a mission to disrupt the broken education system and unleash the true potential of gifted minds. Forget the one-size-fits-all approach that leaves brilliant students bored and disengaged.
This school has tossed the rulebook and created a modern learning environment powered by AI and guided by dedicated mentors. Their personalized approach accelerates learning - 2-6 times faster than traditional classrooms.
GT School students explore their passions, develop critical thinking skills, and learn to innovate.
Because that's where genius lies.
GT School is where gifted minds turn potential into power.
