Alpha School offers the opportunity to implement an AI-powered reading program that redefines early literacy instruction. You will facilitate brief, high-impact workshops rather than conventional hour-long instructional blocks. Your work includes diagnosing the needs of K-2 students, developing original evidence-based lessons without reliance on published materials, and contributing to adaptive tools that extend your expertise to hundreds of learners. This position is designed for reading specialists who excel in environments without rigid curricula and are motivated to advance scalable literacy innovation.

What You Will Be Doing
- Facilitating adaptive reading workshops for children ages 4-7 that build core competencies in phonics, fluency, and comprehension
- Creating personalized motivational experiences that engage students and foster a lasting enthusiasm for reading
- Reviewing student performance data to iteratively improve your methods and generate actionable insights
- Working alongside the technology team to assess and refine AI-based literacy tools
- Following pre-scripted curricula or published scope-and-sequence frameworks
Cultivate a love of reading in young learners
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Master's degree or advanced certification in reading instruction (such as Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years delivering small-group reading interventions to early elementary students
- Expertise in assessing reading levels, forming student groups, and creating differentiated instruction independently of pre-written curricula
- Comfortable with AI and adaptive learning platforms and able to respond to student behaviors within these systems
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Working with us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $60 USD/hour, which equates to $120,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
