At Alpha School, you will execute an AI-powered reading program that redefines early literacy instruction. You'll lead focused, high-impact workshops rather than conventional hour-long sessions. Your work includes diagnosing K-2 student needs, developing original evidence-based lesson plans from the ground up, and contributing to the creation of adaptive tools that extend your expertise to hundreds of learners. What You Will Be Doing
- Conducting adaptive reading workshops for children ages 4-7 that build core competencies in phonics, fluency, and comprehension
- Creating personalized motivational experiences that engage children and foster a lifelong passion for reading
- Reviewing student performance data to iteratively improve your methods and identify actionable insights
- Working alongside the technology team to assess and refine AI-powered literacy tools
- Following pre-scripted curricula or published scope-and-sequence frameworks
Cultivate a passion for reading in young students
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Master's degree or advanced certification in reading instruction (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years delivering small-group reading interventions to early elementary learners
- Capable of assessing reading proficiency, forming student groups, and creating differentiated instruction independently of pre-written curricula
- Experienced with AI/adaptive learning platforms and able to respond to student behaviors observed within them
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- Available to work on-site at one of our locations: Lake Forest (Orange County), CA; Palo Alto, CA; Piedmont, CA; San Francisco, CA; Santa Monica, CA; Chicago, IL; New York City, NY; Chantilly (Washington), VA

Working with us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $60 USD/hour, which equates to $120,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
