What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Operations Specialist, 2 Hour Learning (Remote) - $100,000/year USD position at Crossover?
Take an empty building. Turn it into a live, functioning school. Hand it off and move to the next city. That's the rhythm: sprint-based delivery, campus after campus. If you thrive on fast handoffs and compressed timelines, this role is built for you.
2 Hour Learning operates schools where students complete core academics in two hours daily, then dedicate the remainder of the day to life skills, entrepreneurship, and enrichment traditional schools rarely accommodate. The outcomes speak for themselves: students ranking in the top 1-2% nationally, progressing at double the standard pace. None of this is possible unless the physical campus is ready. Your mandate is to deliver that: fully functional school sites, on schedule and within budget, spanning a rapidly expanding portfolio of micro schools, growth locations, and flagship vertical campuses in major metropolitan areas.
Timelines are always tight. You'll transition from building handoff to opening day in weeks, not months. That demands tight sequencing of vendor activities, daily oversight of dependencies, and leveraging AI to anticipate every open item before it threatens the schedule. After the campus opens, you transfer the site to the standing operations team and advance to the next buildout.
You'll begin with micro-campus deployments — the most repeatable, fastest-cycling projects in the portfolio. As the network scales to include growth and flagship sites, the scope and complexity of your work expand accordingly.
When a school opens on schedule and students arrive on Day 1 without issue, your name stays in the background. That's how the job is meant to be done. Apply now through our structured assessment process: a cognitive evaluation, then a practical work sample.

What You Will Be Doing
- Overseeing the complete buildout for each campus under your responsibility: managing FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment) sourcing and installation, interior finishes, IT infrastructure, signage, and playspace from building handoff to opening day
- Executing a fast-tracked delivery schedule anchored to a fixed opening date: sequencing vendor workflows, managing interdependencies, and compressing timelines wherever the schedule demands
- Managing and receiving vendor deliverables: issuing scopes, overseeing on-site execution, inspecting work against specifications, and formally rejecting work that fails to meet standards
- Deploying AI tools to produce vendor scopes, create punch lists, monitor open issues, and assemble handoff documentation — the pace of this role demands it
- Implementing standardized deployment playbooks for each site, validating completion readiness, recording structured feedback, and organizing the transition to the ongoing operations team
- Operating steady-state facility management once a campus is live: you transition ownership to the permanent operations team and proceed to the next site
- Executing hands-on construction or installation work: your role is to direct, inspect, and accept — not to perform trade work yourself
- Handling real estate acquisition, permitting, or certificate of occupancy processes: those steps are complete before the building is assigned to you
- Working on a single, slow-moving project: micro-campus buildouts run fast, and another one is always queued
- Navigating ambiguous ownership or diffuse accountability: every buildout has one person accountable from handoff through opening day
Deliver fully operational campuses on schedule and within budget, from building handoff to opening day.
Basic Requirements
- Minimum 2 years in operations, facilities, or project delivery
- Documented experience identifying and resolving a broken process, with quantifiable impact: cost reduction, time savings, or quality improvement
- Track record of owning a multi-phase project from start to finish, including documented closure
- Proven vendor management capability: enforcing quality standards with contractors and pushing back on substandard work
- Experience managing 2 or more concurrent projects or sites without losing visibility or control
- Routine use of AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or equivalent) to accelerate work and maintain organization
- US-based and authorized to work without requiring visa sponsorship
- Willing to travel 60–80% of the time (3–4 days per week)
- Prior involvement in a physical buildout or site activation across any sector: retail, hospitality, healthcare, corporate offices, or similar
- Experience in construction project management, tenant improvement, commercial fit-out, or facilities management
- Any practical exposure to FF&E, IT deployment, signage, or commercial interior projects, including coordinator or assistant roles
- Familiarity with project tracking platforms (Wrike, Notion, Procore, Asana, Monday.com, or equivalent) for task and timeline management
