Educator, Alpha - $100,000/year USD

Crossover
Houston, TX Full Time
POSTED ON 6/1/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 8/25/2026
  • $100,000 annual W2 salary with weekly pay; full health, dental, and vision coverage starting day one
  • On-site role at an Alpha campus located in Phoenix, AZ; Oklahoma City, OK; Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Austin, TX; Fort Worth, TX; Houston, TX; or Park City (Salt Lake City), UT (relocation assistance available)

Your role is not to teach. Your role is to motivate.

The kindest thing you can do for a six-year-old who reached 99% of their target is to refuse to accept it as complete. If that principle unsettles you, this role is not for you. If it energizes you because maintaining high expectations is how you demonstrate belief in a kindergartener's potential, read on.

At Alpha, K-2 students complete their academic learning through AI-driven applications over two hours each day. No traditional lectures. No paper worksheets. Half of your day is spent facilitating one-hour life-skills workshops covering public speaking, concentration, and feedback exchange. These workshops serve as frameworks, not rigid scripts — the most effective Educators customize them for their group and create new ones when gaps emerge. The remaining half involves working with students individually or in small clusters, analyzing Coachbot data, and coaching each child toward 100% completion of their weekly application targets. With five- and six-year-olds, energy and playfulness are not supplementary; they are the mechanisms through which you sustain attention and enable learning. Warmth creates the foundation that allows you to challenge them. Challenge communicates your confidence in their capability.

A successful quarter means every student reaches their weekly application targets, demonstrates mastery on the Test2Pass for each life-skills workshop, and 90% report that they love you. Falling short on any of these three metrics means the role has not been fulfilled. Your first year focuses on mastering the established framework; as you demonstrate your ability to uphold standards, opportunities open to advance to Lead Guide, where you mentor newer team members while continuing direct work with children.

If you are drawn to conventional teaching methods, prefer receiving fully scripted curriculum, or view warmth and rigor as opposing forces, this position is not suitable. If you have experience as an early-elementary educator who excelled at circle time, a camp counselor for young children, a youth sports coach, a children's theater performer, or anyone capable of commanding a room of kindergarteners through voice, play, and presence, the final stage before receiving an offer is a shadow day on campus coaching actual Alpha students. If that prospect excites you most, submit your application today.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Facilitating one-hour life-skills workshops for groups of 10-15 K-2 students covering public speaking, concentration, feedback, and other foundational competencies
  • Conducting daily individual and small-group coaching sessions that maintain student progress toward weekly application targets, leveraging Coachbot analytics, Alpha's incentive structures (school currency, leaderboards), and the personal connection you establish with each child
  • Delivering the Test2Pass (Alpha's mastery-based evaluation) for each life skill, and providing continued coaching to students who do not pass until mastery is achieved
  • Engaging kindergarteners through songs, narratives, physical activity, and playfulness, while simultaneously holding first and second graders accountable to concrete, quantifiable expectations
  • Serving as the warm, trusted adult children are excited to see at morning drop-off AND the adult who will not allow them to settle for less than their best

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Delivering whiteboard lectures; academic content is delivered through the applications, not by you
  • Creating curriculum independently; Alpha supplies the framework and you animate it
  • Passively monitoring children at computers; motivation in this context is active, personalized, and continuous
  • Reducing a weekly target so a child can reach it; when a student falls behind, the solution is supporting the student, not adjusting the goal
  • Assessing homework, conducting standardized test preparation, or handling parent outreach; Campus Leads manage parent-facing responsibilities, and the other tasks do not exist in this model

Educator Key Responsibilities

Guarantee that every student in your K-2 cohort achieves their weekly learning targets, demonstrates mastery of each life skill, and concludes the year expressing that they loved you.

Basic Requirements

  • Available to work on-site at an Alpha campus in Phoenix, AZ; Oklahoma City, OK; Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Austin, TX; Fort Worth, TX; Houston, TX; or Park City (Salt Lake City), UT (relocation assistance provided)
  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • Minimum of 3 years of direct experience working with children ages 4 to 8 (including early-elementary teaching, coaching, tutoring, camp counseling, or youth program leadership)
  • A concrete example you can articulate of motivating a young child toward a challenging goal: the objective, your actions, and the result
  • Capacity to participate in a paid training program at our Austin, TX campus
  • Comfort allowing AI to manage instructional content while you concentrate on motivation and life-skills coaching
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Background in youth sports coaching, children's theater, camp leadership, Montessori/progressive early education, or after-school programs where you held direct responsibility for motivating young children toward defined objectives
  • History of personal high achievement (academic, athletic, or professional), such that maintaining rigorous standards for others is an ingrained trait, not an adopted stance
  • Instinctive performer's energy with young children — the capacity to command a room of kindergarteners through vocal expression, humor, and physical engagement
  • Demonstrated success transforming hesitant or reluctant young children into engaged, confident contributors
