You've built a career coaching students — not instructing them. The distinction matters: coaching means connecting, challenging, and refusing to accept anything less than a student's best effort. Instruction means delivering content. You've never operated as a content delivery mechanism.

Your responsibility is facilitating life skills workshops that capture the attention of K-8 students, conducting motivation sessions that drive them toward weekly learning targets, and maintaining standards when a student attempts to settle. What You Will Be Doing

• Facilitating one-hour life skills workshops with K-8 students addressing public speaking, focus, and giving and receiving feedback
• Administering Test2Pass mastery assessments following each workshop to verify students have authentically acquired the skill, not merely attended
• Conducting daily motivation sessions using student profiles, interests, and Coachbot analytics to achieve 100% cohort completion of weekly app advancement goals
• Employing storytelling, incentives (school currency, leaderboards), and personal connection to overcome student resistance
• Monitoring cohort satisfaction scores toward a 90% benchmark on student surveys
  
  

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Standing at a board delivering lectures. Students progress academically through self-guided AI-powered apps, not through your instruction.
• Supervising passively. Kids working on computers is the environment; active engagement is the responsibility.
• Reducing standards when students resist. Test2Pass expectations remain firm, regardless of whether a student is experiencing a difficult week.
• Creating curriculum from nothing. Lesson plans and workshop playbooks are supplied; your responsibility is executing them with the presence and storytelling ability that ensures students genuinely absorb the material.
• Handling parent communications, running admissions processes, or managing campus operations. That falls under a different role.
  
  

Counselor Key Responsibilities

Coach a cohort of K-8 students to achieve 100% of their weekly academic goals while facilitating life skills workshops with 90% satisfaction scores.

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in any subject
• At least 3 years of experience working directly with K-8 (elementary and middle school) students
• Compelling storytelling and facilitation presence — able to hold a room of children engaged for an hour
• Willing to work on-site at the Alpha campus in Brownsville, TX
• Legal right to work in the US without visa sponsorship

• Background as an athletic coach, camp counselor, or youth program facilitator
• Track record of high performance in a competitive environment (academic, athletic, or professional)

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $50 USD/hour, which equates to $100,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
