Coach, Alpha - $100,000/year USD

Crossover
Denver, CO Full Time
POSTED ON 6/1/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 11/8/2026
  • $100,000 annual W2 compensation, paid weekly; full health, dental, and vision coverage starting day one
  • On-site role at an Alpha K-8 school in Denver, CO; Oklahoma City, OK; Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Austin, TX; Brownsville, TX; Fort Worth, TX; Houston (Central, South, or The Woodlands), TX; Park City, UT (Salt Lake City area); or Toronto, Canada (relocation assistance available)

You are not here to teach. You are here to motivate.

The most caring thing you can do for a student who reached 99% of their target is to refuse to accept it as complete. If that expectation unsettles you, this role is not for you. If it energizes you—because maintaining high standards is how you demonstrate belief in a student's capacity—read on.

At Alpha, academic learning happens through AI-driven applications. No traditional lectures. No physical textbooks. Half of your workday is dedicated to facilitating one-hour life-skills workshops covering topics like public speaking, concentration, and constructive feedback exchange. The other half involves meeting with students individually or in small groups, analyzing their progress via Coachbot analytics, and driving each one to complete 100% of their weekly app objectives. You will not follow a rigid script—workshops provide a framework, but high performers in this position customize them and create new content when needed.

Success in a quarter means every student in your group completes their weekly app targets, passes the Test2Pass for all life-skills workshops, and 90% or more report they love you. Falling short on any of these three metrics means falling short of the role. During your first year, you'll master the operational framework; as you demonstrate your ability to uphold standards, advancement opportunities open to Lead Guide, where you mentor new team members while continuing direct student work.

If you prefer traditional classroom teaching, expect fully prepared curriculum, or view warmth and rigorous expectations as incompatible, this position is not a fit. If you have experience as a sports coach, camp leader, tutor who wouldn't let students give up, or performer capable of commanding a room of young children, the final interview stage is a full day on campus coaching actual Alpha students. If that prospect excites you most, submit your application now.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Facilitating one-hour life-skills sessions for K-8 groups on subjects including public speaking, focus, feedback, and other essential competencies, customizing the framework and creating new material when you identify needs
  • Conducting daily individual and small-group motivation meetings that drive every student to complete 100% of their weekly app objectives, leveraging Coachbot data, Alpha's reward structures (school currency, leaderboards), and your personal connection with each student to overcome resistance
  • Delivering the Test2Pass (Alpha's mastery assessment) for each life skill, then coaching students who fall short until they achieve mastery
  • Adjusting your approach across a broad age spectrum, from kindergarteners requiring high energy and physical activity to eighth graders needing direct conversations and accountability
  • Serving as the adult who maintains standards and the adult students trust and want to confide in; warmth grants you permission to challenge, and challenging demonstrates your confidence in their abilities

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Presenting lessons at a whiteboard; academic content is delivered through the apps, not by you
  • Developing curriculum entirely from scratch; you animate an established framework with energy and narrative
  • Passively monitoring students on devices; motivation in this context is active, personalized, and persistent
  • Reducing a weekly target to make it easier for a student to reach; when a student falls behind, the solution involves supporting the student, not adjusting the goal
  • Assessing homework, conducting standardized test preparation, or handling parent communications; Campus Leads manage parent interactions, and the other tasks do not exist in this model

Coach Key Responsibilities

Guarantee that every student in your K-8 group completes their weekly learning targets, achieves mastery in each life skill, and finishes the year reporting they loved you.

Basic Requirements

  • Available to work on-site at an Alpha campus in Denver, CO; Oklahoma City, OK; Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Austin, TX; Brownsville, TX; Fort Worth, TX; Houston, TX (Central, South, or The Woodlands); Park City, UT; or Toronto, Canada (relocation assistance provided)
  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years of direct work with K-8 students (classroom instruction, athletic coaching, tutoring, camp counseling, or youth program management)
  • A concrete example you can articulate of motivating a K-8 student toward a challenging objective: the objective itself, your actions, and the result
  • Comfort with AI managing instructional delivery while you concentrate on motivation and life-skills development
  • Regular use of generative AI platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude)
  • Legal authorization to work in the US without visa sponsorship (or in Canada for the Toronto location)

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Background in youth sports coaching, debate, camp direction, theater, or after-school initiatives where you held direct responsibility for motivating children toward defined outcomes
  • Personal record of significant achievement (academic, athletic, or career), such that maintaining high expectations for others is ingrained behavior, not adopted persona
  • Communication and presence skills sufficient to engage a room of 12-year-olds for an hour without volume escalation
  • Demonstrated success converting unengaged or resistant students into active, committed learners
