Camp Coordinator, Alpha - $100,000/year USD

Crossover
Tulsa, OK Full Time
POSTED ON 5/1/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 6/27/2026
  • $100,000 annual W2 compensation distributed weekly; comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage begins on your first day
  • Position is on-site at an Alpha K-8 school in one of the following locations: Denver, CO; Atlanta, GA; Oklahoma City, OK; Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Austin, TX; Brownsville, TX; Fort Worth, TX; Houston, TX (Central, South, or The Woodlands); Park City, UT (Salt Lake City region); or Toronto, Canada (relocation assistance available)

This is not a teaching position. This is a motivation role.

The most meaningful support you can offer a student who reached 99% of their target is to refuse to accept it as complete. If that expectation feels uncomfortable, this role is not for you. If it energizes you because maintaining high standards is how you demonstrate belief in a student's capability, continue reading.

At Alpha, academic learning happens through AI-driven applications. No classroom lectures. No traditional textbooks. Half of your workday is dedicated to facilitating one-hour life-skills workshops covering public speaking, focus, and constructive feedback exchange. The remaining half involves working with students individually or in small groups, analyzing their progress via Coachbot analytics, and driving each student toward 100% completion of their weekly application goals. You will not follow a rigid script — workshops provide a foundation, but top performers in this role customize them and create new content when needs arise.

A successful quarter means every student in your cohort completes their weekly app targets, passes the Test2Pass for all life-skills workshops, and 90% report positive sentiment toward you. Falling short on any of these three metrics means falling short of the role's expectations. During your first year you will internalize the operational playbook; as you demonstrate your ability to maintain standards, opportunities open to advance to Lead Guide, where you mentor new team members while continuing direct student engagement.

If you are drawn to conventional teaching methods, prefer pre-packaged curriculum, or view warmth and rigorous standards as incompatible, this role will not suit you. If your background includes athletic coaching, camp counseling, tutoring where you refused to let students give up, or performance work that commanded the attention of young children, the final stage before receiving an offer is a full-day on-campus session coaching actual Alpha students. If that prospect excites you most, submit your application today.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Facilitating one-hour life-skills workshops for K-8 student cohorts addressing public speaking, focus, feedback, and other foundational competencies, customizing the existing playbook and creating new sessions when you identify unmet needs
  • Conducting daily individual and small-group motivation sessions that drive every student to 100% completion of their weekly app targets, leveraging Coachbot analytics, Alpha's incentive mechanisms (school currency, leaderboards), and your personal connection with each student to overcome resistance
  • Delivering the Test2Pass (Alpha's mastery-based evaluation) for each life skill, and providing coaching to students who do not pass until mastery is achieved
  • Modifying your coaching approach across a broad age spectrum, from kindergarteners requiring high energy and physical engagement to 8th graders needing direct communication and accountability
  • Serving as the adult who maintains expectations and the adult students trust and seek out; warmth creates the foundation to challenge, and challenging demonstrates your confidence in their potential

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Delivering whiteboard instruction; academic content is embedded in the applications, not your role
  • Creating curriculum from the ground up; you activate an established playbook through energy and narrative skill
  • Passively monitoring students at workstations; motivation in this context is engaged, personalized, and persistent
  • Reducing a weekly target to enable a student to reach it; when a student falls behind, the solution involves the student, not the goal
  • Evaluating homework, conducting standardized test preparation, or handling parent correspondence; Campus Leads manage family-facing responsibilities, and the other tasks do not exist in this model

Camp Coordinator Key Responsibilities

Guarantee that every student in your K-8 cohort completes their weekly learning targets, achieves mastery in each life skill, and concludes the year reporting they valued you.

Basic Requirements

  • Available to work on-site at an Alpha campus in Denver, CO; Atlanta, GA; Oklahoma City, OK; Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Austin, TX; Brownsville, TX; Fort Worth, TX; Houston, TX (Central, South, or The Woodlands); Park City, UT; or Toronto, Canada (relocation assistance provided)
  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • Minimum 3 years of direct experience working with K-8 students (classroom instruction, coaching, tutoring, camp counseling, or youth program management)
  • A concrete example you can articulate of motivating a K-8 student toward a challenging objective: the objective, your actions, and the result
  • Comfort allowing AI to manage instructional content while you concentrate on motivation and life-skills development
  • Routine use of generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude)
  • Legal authorization to work in the US without visa sponsorship (or in Canada for the Toronto location)

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Background in youth sports coaching, debate, camp leadership, theater, or after-school programming where you held direct responsibility for motivating children toward defined goals
  • Demonstrated history of high achievement (academic, athletic, or professional), such that holding others to demanding standards reflects your values, not an adopted stance
  • Narrative ability and presence sufficient to command the attention of a room of 12-year-olds for an hour without escalating volume
  • Proven success converting disengaged or reluctant students into active contributors
